A rare cultural and historical monument, the Church of St. Egidius is located in St. Egidius Square in Poprad. The origin of the church dates back to the 2nd half of the 13th century. The interior of the church is decorated with an exceptional collection of medieval paintings. The Renaissance bell tower of the church was built in 1592. Near the church stands a sandstone pillar with a Baroque statue of the Immaculate Conception from 1728. The day dedicated to St. Egidius, the patron of hunters, forests, and beggars, is September 1.

The nearly 40-meter tall tower of the Church of St. Egidius adorns the square in Poprad.
