Where the Book Ends, the Literary Evening Begins / Author Discussion with Júlia Marcinová
The Spiš Cultural Center and Library invites you to another discussion from the popular series of author meetings with Slovak authors.
This time, the invitation has been accepted by ethnologist and writer Júlia Marcinová, the author of the successful book Where You Went, There Ask for Milk. In it, she mapped out the multi-generational story of her family in the village of Poluvsie (now a district of Rajecké Teplice) during the years 1860 – 1944. The novel has become one of the best-selling books in several bookstores thanks to the connection of the personal lives of family members with the folk traditions of our ancestors, whose values such as forgiveness, courage, and humility touch our hearts. You may also know Júlia Marcinová as the author of several academic publications dedicated to traditional clothing, especially in northern Slovakia. She is currently the director of the Regional Cultural Center in Žilina.
