Tourist Event: Ridge of the Martin Hills / Meeting of Readers of the Magazine Beautiful Slovakia

The Department of the Slovak Tourist Club AC Lokomotíva Bane Spišská Nová Ves is organizing a walking event under the title Ridge of the Martin Hills – Meeting of Readers of the Magazine Beautiful Slovakia in the Lúčanská Little Fatra mountains.

Date: May 28 – 31, 2026 (Thursday – Sunday)

Meeting of Participants: May 28, 2026, at 14:00 at the Spišská Nová Ves train station Departure: at 14:05 – by train to Vrútky – from there, transportation by car to the Martin Hills and huts will be provided.

Return: May 31, 2026, at 16:00 at Spišská Nová Ves train station.

Walking Routes: (date, ascent, distance, ascent/descent)

• May 29, 2026 – Veľká Lúka, Vidlica, Humence – 12.2 km, 320/320 m - May 30, 2026 – Krížava, Skalka - 8 km, 371/371 m - May 31, 2026 – Minčol 1364 m and descent into Vrútky – 10.3 km, 262/1004 m

Routes will be determined according to the leader's schedule and agreement among participants for each day.

Notes: The number of participants is limited by accommodation capacity – 13 beds. Meals will be self-catered – restaurant. Information and registration with the event leader is necessary by May 25, 2026, until the hut's bed capacity is filled. It is necessary to bring your own bedding or sleep on the bed in your own sleeping bag. Possible attendance by car – parking available in front of the hut. The cost for accommodation for 3 nights for participants with lodging upon filling the capacity (min. 10 participants) is €30/stay – valid for members of the KST AC LB Department.

Only members of the KST AC LB SNV with a membership card and a valid sticker for 2026 are insured during the ascent. Each participant takes part in the tourist event at their own risk and is responsible for their safety and behavior in nature.
