Beauty of Jewelry I

We are about to embark on a week full of discovering the secrets and beauties of the craft of jewelry making. Children will immerse themselves in the world of gemstones, natural materials, and their own creativity.

We will create jewelry from various precious stones, as well as from natural materials that we collect during our walk in the forest – from bark, moss, or pebbles. We will examine their structure and compare it with gemstones, discover differences and similarities, and discuss how they are formed. Together, we will reveal how resin from a tree can transform over time into amber.

Children will make their own necklaces from gemstones, which they will connect with natural elements using leather and wire. They will also create a pendant inspired by the legend of the Little Mermaid and will search for heart shapes in nature – from which they will make a brooch as a nice gift for mom, decorated with colorful beads.

In the end, we will learn a simple trick to distinguish glass from crystal, and we will go home not only with our own jewelry but also with new knowledge and pride in what we have managed to create with our own hands.
