H. Ch. Andersen / M. Babiak / V. Kollár: FAIRY TALES FROM THE CROOKED MIRROR
Favorite fairy tales The Emperor's New Clothes, The Ugly Duckling, and The Matchstick with cheerful songs for children and parents alike.
After the beloved Gingerbread House, the Spiš Theatre brings you the production Fairy Tales from the Crooked Mirror (Andersen's fairy tales) from the same creators. Perhaps the most famous fairy tales by the Danish storyteller, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Ugly Duckling, and The Matchstick, have been dramatized by Michal Babiak, with lyrics written by Viktor Kollár. These engaging, humorous, and often poignant stories carry a strong moral message – they condemn arrogance, foolishness, hypocrisy, superiority, and dishonest behavior. They highlight that differences should not be condemned and bring hope that good will triumph over evil. Through the arrogant emperor, the ugly duckling, and the brave soldier, you will be transported to a magical fairy tale world that enchants audiences of all ages. A modern interpretation of these traditional fairy tales is complemented by cheerful songs, dances, and visually captivating costumes.
