In 2026, we commemorate 120 years since the establishment of the first truly sports club in the territory of the present city of Poprad. This occurred on May 13, 1906, when the Matejovský Sports Club (Matzdorfer Athletic Club) was founded with basic sections in soccer, athletics, and tourism. We want to dignify this round anniversary with several events, about which we will inform visitors in a timely manner. The exhibition introduces the rich history of sports in Poprad, presenting a multitude of items and documents from the past through active collecting and research activities, and also showcases the present of sports in Poprad through the lens of the past.
The ambassadors of the event are Ondrej Glajza, Peter Hámor, Alena Kováčová, Július Šupler, Tamara Potocká.
The exhibition collaborates with the Podtatranské Museum in Poprad, the City of Poprad, the Secondary Sports School in Poprad, and the Friends of Poprad Club, o. z. Poprad.
