Retro is in! Our new cycle of artistic evenings is in this spirit. It is intended for friends of Czech, actually Czechoslovak art, Czech, actually Czechoslovak classics. Do you belong to them? So let’s see: do you know who the author of the famous song by Hana Hegerová (Bouquet, veil, tears / even happiness brings tears / how easy it is / when someone gets married...) is? Did you catch the information that one Czech writer was nominated for the Nobel Prize three times, but without success, and another only once, but successfully? Can you recall the actress who played the unforgettable Škopková in the film trilogy Sun, Hay...? Do you know that strange phenomenon when listening to Ježek makes your entire body dance? And finally, what do you think connects Saxana, Maxipes Fík, and Mach with Šebestová?

Our familiar–unknown... Today, the faces of the Czech (artistic) sky.

As part of a series of five artistic evenings, we will introduce:

significant Czech poet and Nobel Prize laureate Jaroslav Seifert; internationally recognized Czech writer and journalist Arnošt Lustig; playwright and film scriptwriter Miloš Macourek; exceptional composer and pianist Jaroslav Ježek; popular Czech actress with a distinctive expression Helena Růžičková.

Each evening will have a unique atmosphere arising from the creation and presence of the artist themselves. Very informal, popularizing, and inspiring, with the willingness to hear authentic memories from the audience.

Almost heaven within reach...

The evenings will be hosted by Soňa Pariláková and Hana Rodová, in dialogue with invited guests. The flow of each evening will also be refreshed by a musical part.
