Tourist Event: 54th Annual Ascent of Veľký Fatranský Kriváň

The Department of the Slovak Tourist Club AC Lokomotíva Bane Spišská Nová Ves invites you to the ascent of the highest peak of the Malá Fatra - the 54th annual ascent of Veľký Fatranský Kriváň (1,709 m above sea level)

Meeting: 20. 6. 2026 (Saturday) at 4:55 at the train station Spišská Nová Ves Departure: express train at 5:05 to Žilina, transfer to bus at 8:00 to Vrátna and cable car to Snilovské sedlo (ticket €23 up) Estimated arrival in SNV at 18:57 or 20:57

Route: Snilovské sedlo – Veľký kriváň, ridge – Veľký Fatranský Kriváň (1709 m above sea level) – Pekelník (1609 m above sea level) – Bublen saddle – Chrapaky – Kraviarské – Baraniarky (1270 m above sea level) – descent as agreed.

1.) Terchová, Vrátna Starý dvor: 9.4 km, time 4:30 hours, ascent 436 m, descent 1322 m, bus at 14:50 2.) Sokolie – Terchová, Vrátna Starý dvor: 12.1 km, time 5:50 hours, ascent 700 m, descent 1582 m, bus at 16:50 3.) Vyšné Kamence, main road: 13.2 km, time 6:30 hours, ascent 717 m, descent 1715 m, bus at 17:10

Transfer: on foot Difficulty: difficult, high-altitude hiking level 2

Note: Option to present with an ascent of the town of Turany at the top of Kriváň (€2).
