Victoria's Gardens with the Devil's Rock Maze

← Attractions

Victoria's Gardens represent a modern tourist attraction located near the town of Stará Ľubovňa. The area was opened to the public in 2022 and covers more than 11,000 m². It is a pleasant natural environment designed for relaxation, recreation, and entertainment for all age groups.

The centerpiece of the area is the Devil's Rock Maze, which, with an area of approximately 6,400 m², is among the largest living mazes in Central Europe. It is made up of thousands of elm saplings and consists of a complex network of paths with many branches and dead ends. Passing through the maze takes about 30 to 60 minutes and presents both an entertaining and navigational challenge for visitors.

The maze is divided into several thematic sections, and it includes interactive tasks that make the passage more enjoyable for visitors. In its center, there is an observation tower – the symbolic 'Devil's Rock', from which there is a view of the surroundings, including the Ľubovňa Castle.

The name of the attraction is derived from a local legend associated with the construction of the Ľubovňa Castle, according to which the devil wanted to drop a huge boulder on the castle. This story is thematically incorporated into the maze itself.

In addition to the maze, the gardens also offer relaxation zones, meadows suitable for picnics or organizing events, as well as smaller attractions for children. Entrance to the gardens is free, with only the entrance to the maze having a fee.

The attraction is suitable for families with children, groups, and individual visitors, and represents an interesting addition to a visit to the northern Spiš region.
